rikka “Planacide” is a highly effective disinfectant against planaria, flatworms of the class Turbellaria.It also acts on gill flukes (Dactylogyrus), skin flukes (Gyrodactylus) and tapeworms (Cestoda) in aquarium fish in fresh and marine water.Signs of gill flukes: heavier breathing, rubbing against decorations and equipment, jerky swimming combined with apathetic “hanging” in the water.Skin flukes may also cause bruise-like marks on the skin. Severe weight loss despite a normal appetite points to tapeworms.Gill damage in large fish can be checked simply: catch the suspected fish, place it on a damp surface and gently lift the gill cover with tweezers.
